Kendra Helmkamp

Welcome to our class! I am excited to be starting my seventh-year teaching 3rd grade at OACS. I graduated from Hope College in Holland, MI with my degree in elementary education and fine arts. Prior to teaching in Florida, I worked for four years at an elementary school in Northeast Indiana. I love 3rd graders curiosity, enthusiasm, and creativity. My goal this year to is create a classroom community of life long learners.

I believe that parent and family involvement play a critical role in a student’s education. I firmly stand that all children will receive the best education possible when parents and teachers partner as an invested team in a child’s success. I believe that parents are the key to their children’s academic success, and I am looking forward to working with you to help your child reach his or her full potential.

Outside of school, I have a passion for reading, crafting, spending time outdoors, and visiting Walt Disney World. I don’t have any pets, but I have a passion for plants and gardening. I grew up in rural Indiana and travel back home for the holidays and summer break. I can’t wait to spend this new year with a great group of OACS 3rd Grade Eagles!
