The mission of the Oakland Police Department is to enhance the quality of life in the Town of Oakland by working cooperatively with citizenry to enforce the laws, preserve the peace, reduce fear and provide for a safe environment, while displaying no partiality to social or political influences.

Chief Driscoll, Lieutenant Kelly, and several Officers patrol various sections of
the Town. During events, several Officers perform bicycle safety classes for Juveniles and Adults alike, and participate in parades and other special functions.
The Oakland Police Department has jurisdiction and is responsible for patrolling
approximately 2.7 miles of the West Orange Trail. You can read more about the trail here: here.
Officers on Bicycles also patrol the several
neighborhoods and business areas within the Town Limits.
