Enrollment for the 2023-2024 School Year (VPK thru 5th Grade)

All lottery and wait list applications must be submitted online.  Applications will not be taken over the phone, via email, nor in person. Children entering VPK must be 4 years old on or before September 1, 2023. Children entering Kindergarten must be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2023. Lottery applications are accepted January 5 through February 28, 2023.

OACS Wait List Application - If you did not enter the 2023-2024 lottery, you may still submit a waitlist application for the 2023-2024 school year.  Applicants are placed on the wait list in date submission order, priority grouping is considered. You will receive an email confirmation from our Registrar with your wait list position within 10-15 school days from submission date. The wait list is for the current school year only, it does not roll over from year to year. You will need to submit a lottery application for the following school year, if your child does not enroll with us.

Enrollment for the 2024-2025 School Year (VPK thru 5th Grade)

Lottery applications for the 2024-2025 school year will be accepted January 9 through February 29, 2024, for VPK thru 5th grade.  The lottery link will be posted here and will be available on January 9, 2024, at 10:00am.

How does the lottery and wait list work?

Each school year we use a lottery system for enrollment of new students in VPK through 5th grade. We have an Open Enrollment period where families new to OACS can be placed on the lottery list for the upcoming school year. The following priority order is used in the lottery: OACS siblings, Oakland residents, Non-Oakland Orange/Lake County residents, and other Florida residents. This is a lottery draw, it is not first come, first served.  Oakland residents are required to submit proof of residency prior to the lottery.

The lottery is held in March and by the end of March all families will be contacted via email with the results. Children in the lottery will either be offered an enrollment opportunity or issued a wait list number. Our wait list stays active throughout the school year and does not roll over from year to year. After the lottery window closes you may complete the wait list application above to be placed on the wait list.

Based on past enrollment trends, we anticipate having the following seats available per grade level at the time of the lottery:
80 in VPK, 5 in Kindergarten, and in Grades 1 through 5, 1 to 3 seats per grade level. Current school capacity is 605 students (VPK-5th).

Student Capacity (Seat Availability) for the 2023 - 2024 school year as of November 7, 2023: all grade levels are full, we have no openings.  This information will be updated every 12 weeks as required by the State of Florida.
