20. NORMAL MONTHLY UTILITY BILL CHARGES INCLUDE: WATER, IRRIGATION, WASTEWATER (WERE APPLICABLE), TAX, AND GARBAGE.

    The Town utility bills are sent out monthly. Payment is due by the 10th of the month and is subject to disconnection if not paid by 5:00 pm on the 19th. Late charges are assessed after 5:00 pm on the 10th and a $25.00 Service/Administration fee will be added after 5:00 pm on the 19th.

22. If service is disconnected, payment in full plus the Service/Administrative fee is required before service will be restored. Meters are locked at disconnection of service. Any tampering with the lock or meter will result in a fine to the owner or tenant of the property.
24. The Town of Oakland shall be responsible for maintenance of the meter and delivery system upstream of the meter. The customer shall be responsible for maintenance of the delivery system and fixtures on the outlet side of the meter.
26. I, THE UNDERSIGNED, UNDERSTAND AND AGREE THAT I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL CHARGES UNTIL SUCH TIME AS I REQUEST (IN WRITING) TERMINATION OF SERVICE. I FURTHER UNDERSTAND THAT OAKLAND HAS A WATER RATE HIGHER THAN MANY LOCAL JURISDICTIONS.
28. IN THE TOWN'S EFFORTS TO COMPLY WITH THE ST. JOHN'S WATER MANAGEMENT DISTRICT CONSUMPTIVE USE PERMIT, THE TOWN ALSO ADHERES TO THE ST. JOHN’S WATER MANAGEMENT DISTRICT’S LAWN AND LANDSCAPE RULES. IT IS THE OWNER'S RESPONSIBILITY TO MONITOR THEIR IRRIGATION SYSTEM SETTINGS TO AVOID PENALTIES UNDER THIS ORDINANCE.

    First Violation- Written Warning. Second Violation - $50.00 Fine. Third Violation- $100.00 Fine. Fourth Violation - $250.00 Fine. Fifth Violation - $500.00 Fine.
34. If deemed applicable, a minimum housing inspection may be required before water will be connected.
